#LetsDiscussSolidMinerals: How To Rescue Nigerian Economy via Solid Minerals

Without doubt, Nigeria is richly endowed with abundant varieties of solid minerals (ranging from precious metals to various precious stones and industrial minerals). Its been reported that there are about 40 different kinds of solid minerals and precious metals buried in Nigerian soil waiting to be exploited (as reported by The Nigerian Extractive Industries and Transparency Initiative – NEITI). Obviously, the solid minerals sector offers a viable alternative to petroleum for foreign exchange earnings. But NO, we are not paying adequate attention to our mining sector. Out of the 44 minerals identified in the country, only about 13 are currently being mined, processed and marketed, which fetched the nation about N1, 742, 990 trillion in just six years, even as government is not giving so much attention to the sector, in terms of big investment, or grants to operators in the sector. Challenges facing the sector which include illegal mining, insufficient funding, limited infrastructure, insufficient geological data amongst others definitely require salvage. Join us as we discuss the way forward for the Solid Mineras sector in Nigeria, as a means of lifting our economy up. Join us by 6pm Friday 2nd of December as we discuss with Haruna Braimoh Gani. He is the CEO of  Theorach Nigeria Limited, a qualified accountant by profession turned entrepreneur with 8yrs cognate experience in solid/industrial minerals with branches in bauchi, benue and ikpeshi (auchi) edo states.
